About the Ritual
Pitra dosh nivaran at Gaya is a combined observance. It includes narayan bali and tripindi shraddha rather than being a short separate puja, which is why it occupies most of a day and costs more than pind daan alone. The day generally runs from around 7:30 in the morning to early afternoon. The sankalpa is taken on your family gotra and the ancestors concerned. Narayan bali and tripindi shraddha follow, with tarpan and — in the higher packages — brahman bhojan closing the observance. Gaya's standing for rites of this kind rests on the story of Gayasura, whose devotion was such that Vishnu granted his body itself the power to purify whoever performed rites upon it. If you have already been advised to perform narayan bali or tripindi shraddha on its own, tell us. You may not need this combined observance, and we would rather say so than sell you the larger package.

- •Bookings need at least 3 days between payment and the ritual date, so the samagri and the purohit can be arranged properly.

- •Your travel to Gaya, your accommodation, and any donation you choose to make separately are not part of the package price and are not refundable by us.

Is this the same as narayan bali?
No — it includes it. Pitra dosh nivaran here is a combined observance covering narayan bali and tripindi shraddha in one day. If you have been advised to perform narayan bali alone, you may not need this larger package, and we will tell you so.
Will we be asked for more money at the ghat?
No. Samagri, purohits and dakshina are all inside the price shown on this page. If anyone asks your family for more on the day, tell us and we will deal with it.
Will this fix the problems we have been having?
We will not promise that, and we would be wary of anyone who does. What we guarantee is that the rite is performed correctly and completely, on your gotra, by named purohits, at the published price.
How long does the day take?
Generally 7:30 in the morning until about 3 in the afternoon. The Premium and Ultra Premium packages run a full day with an additional purohit so nothing is rushed.
Can it be performed if we cannot travel to Gaya?
Yes. We take the sankalpa details from you and send photographs and video of the ceremony afterwards.
